YOUTH 2000

YOUTH 2000, U.S.A., promotes, organizes, and directs retreats based on the Gospel of St. John, Chapter 6, " I am the Bread of Life." The focus on the Eucharist shows young people that Christ must be at the center of their lives.  The format of each retreat, which includes the Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer, talks, music and fellowship, provides a means to help young people develop a deep and lasting personal relationship with Jesus Christ, especially in the Eucharist, "the source and summit of Christian life."  (Lumen gentium 11).  Young people gain a solid foundation upon which to build their lives.

TARGET AGE GROUP: Ages 13 – 30 are encouraged to participate in Youth 2000 retreats.

Youth Sing Praise (YSP):

Spend a week learning a musical and then perform a show at the Outdoor Amphitheatre at the Shrine in Belleville.

Quest

Quest is a 33 hour program of sharing for high school freshmen and sophomores.  It is an experience of being together with other teens so that the participants can find out more about God, themselves, and their relationships with family and friends.  Quests are conducted by a team of lay adults, priests, sisters, and teens who are associated with this diocesan organization.

Teens Encounter Christ (a.k.a. TEC)

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is a three day experience in Christian Living.  It is designed for high school juniors through adults who are searching for goals, for acceptance, for meaning, for community, for values, for God.  Parents, those who work or volunteer with youth, and interested adults are also encouraged to participate in this renewal weekend.  TEC is organized by an independent board of directors and is affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Belleville.

At TEC you experience:

  • a fresh and exciting place away from home, school, and work;
  • meeting young adults from other areas;
  • finding God as someone you can believe in;
  • encountering Jesus Christ, risen and alive today;
  • a follow-up program to help you live what you find at TEC;
  • a time to reflect on your life, your ideals, your hopes, your dreams, and much more!
